The SA CHAMBER USA met with the President, Ms Janine Myburgh and Executive Director, Mr Sid Peimer. That is, of the Cape Chamber of Commerce in South Africa during November 2020. The Cape Chamber of Commerce was established in 1804. They are the oldest member-based organization in Africa. The Chamber has remained contemporary and relevant with a wide range of services, including information, training, networking, trade facilitation and robust advocacy on behalf of our members. We are the voice of business.
SA Chamber USA has the main objective to advance, promote and unlock business opportunities. Especially for members and their business interests. So, by actively linking, connecting and networking between members in the United States of America and in South Africa.
SA Chamber USA are most of all excited about connecting with the Cape Chamber of Commerce in South Africa. Because we have a commitment to forge alliances with similar organizations created for similar objectives. Thus, an initiative to the mutual benefit of both organizations and their members.
During the meeting the Executive Director of the Cape Chamber shared valuable management information. This information will help SA Chamber USA to provide member services on an electronic platform. Most of all in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The President of the Cape Chamber connected Ms Elaine Bylos of the SA Chamber USA to their tourism team. So that areas of co-operation can be identified. The SA Chamber USA will continue discussions with the Cape Chamber of Commerce to forge stronger links. Both sides also indicated that work should commence on a possible agreement between the two Chambers.
