Momentous occasion as SACCUSA President had the privilege of meeting the Mandela Washington Fellows from 14 African countries.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship is a flagship program of the U.S. Department of State's Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).
It empowers young African leaders through academic coursework, leadership training, and networking opportunities in the United States. These Fellows represent the best and brightest from the African continent, and their passion for positive change is truly remarkable.
During our meeting, the President had the honor of sharing motivational thoughts with these future leaders. He discussed the importance of perseverance, unity, and the power of embracing diversity as they take on the challenges of leadership.
In the words of the great Nelson Mandela, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." The Mandela Washington Fellows exemplify this spirit of education and empowerment, and we are confident they will continue to drive impactful change in their communities in Africa.
