SA Chamber USA President, Mr. Neil Diamond met with the South African Ambassador Her Excellency Nomaindiya Mfeketo at her official residence in Washington DC. He raised important matters affecting our community of South Africans in the USA. We are collectively working tirelessly to put South African interest on top of the agenda in Washington DC.

With the lunch meeting, we concluded on strengthening the working relationship between The Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in the United States and the South African Chamber of Commerce USA. We have covered many areas of cooperation to better serve The South African community in the USA. The Chamber President raised several issues affecting the South African Community in the USA.

Action Items discussed included:

1. Covid-19 Travel Restrictions affecting South Africans returning to the USA.
2. The Closure of the Chicago Consulate and Consul General Phumzile Mazibuko.
3. Consular Services to South Africans in the Mid-West after Closure.
4. SA Passports and delays from DHA.
5. H2-A Workers and H4 Visa’s.
6. H1B, J1, K1 and South African Visitor Visa’s.
7. South Africa’s Economic Recovery Plan and the role of the USA.
8. Building a stronger South African Diaspora and community.
9. SA CHAMBER USA support for the Embassy programs.
