SA Chamber USA stands in solidarity with South Africa and its people. Let us pray for South Africa.
We condemn the acts of violence, looting, and criminality that are certainly devastating our country of origin. This will have a devastating impact on the economic recovery of South Africa.
South Africans are having food shortages in parts of the country as a result of widespread riots, looting, and destruction of property.
South Africans in the Bay area (San Francisco, CA) also gathered this past weekend to stand in solidarity with South Africa. SA Chamber USA was inspired by this SAFFA community on the west coast.
South Africans in Georgia used their annual braai as an opportunity to stand in solidarity with South Africa and pray for the country of their birth.
Michelle Naicker the organizer said that a number of people did not show up because of the events in South Africa. But Michelle and the core group decided to go ahead with the event and took the opportunity to pray for South Africa.
Michelle concluded that “We prayed in English and in Afrikaans. It was certainly very comforting to everyone who was worried about their families and friends back home in SA”.
Firstly, the SA Chamber USA supports this initiative and joins the many South Africans in the USA that pray for South Africa. Secondly, we call on members to Pray4SA and share details of their events in the USA.
Fellow SAFFAS in the UK came together in solidarity with South Africa to support our country and pray4SA. It would be great if SAFFAS in the USA could do the same in Washington DC.
