SACCUSA is proud to announce that advisory board member Heinrich April played an active role in the highly successful Atlanta Phambili event, representing SACCUSA as part of the delegation led by Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens. This groundbreaking initiative focuses on connecting businesses in Atlanta and the USA with exciting opportunities in South Africa, fostering partnerships and mutual growth.
Atlanta Phambili—meaning “forward” in Zulu and Xhosa—is a subnational diplomacy initiative aimed at positioning Atlanta as a gateway for collaboration, shared prosperity, and knowledge exchange with South Africa. The initiative taps into Atlanta’s strengths, including its world-class educational and research institutions, thriving creative industries, dynamic economy, and deeply rooted Diaspora connections, to promote two-way engagement between leaders, institutions, and businesses.
At this event, Heinrich April and the delegation highlighted SACCUSA’s commitment to B2B connections, with a focus on bringing a South African business delegation to Atlanta to explore new opportunities and deepen ties. Key efforts include building bridges between Gauteng, the City of Johannesburg, and Tshwane with Atlanta, fostering relationships that strengthen trade, innovation, and cultural exchange.
