The US market has always been a significant contributor to South African tourism. Despite the global pandemic, South Africa welcomed 284,000 American tourists in 2021, demonstrating the enduring appeal of the country’s unique attractions.
Our goal is to help increase these numbers by promoting South Africa as a destination of choice for American travellers.

Between January and March 2024 a total of 118,194 tourists arrived in South Africa from the United States of America making a 12.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023

In February 2024 28.4% of international arrivals to South Africa came by air, including a significant portion from the United States through key airports such as OR Tambo and Cape Town International
