OUR MANDATE


The SOUTH AFRICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN THE USA (SACCUSA) has a Federal Main Board
that govern the association and all its Chapters.

It is the highest decision making body and is responsible for the Management of SACCUSA, Budget of SACCUSA and annual calendar of events of SACCUSA. The board is democratically elected by the membership. Board Members elect office bearers that serve for a fixed period as Executive members of the Board.

PORTFOLIOS

President & Chairman:

shall uphold the Charter, Chair the Federal Main board and General meetings, develop programming, promote membership, conduct meetings, relay all programming and membership communications through the applicable staff or committee and coordinate delegated officer responsibilities.

1st Vice President & Chairman:

shall act as a second for the Chairman and be responsible for Corporate relationships, Intergovernmental Relationships and membership development.

2nd Vice President & Chairman:

shall be responsible for networking, events, execution of programming and Calendar of Events and membership.

Treasurer:

shall be responsible for collecting and disbursing funds, budgets, reporting financial transactions, and compliance with all revenue and expenditure reporting requirements and prepare Finical Statements.

Secretary:

shall be responsible for drafting the meeting agenda, administering and maintaining meeting minutes, annual reports, committee reports and membership reports.

Board:

Additional board members support and promote good governance and help with making decisions.

Neil Diamond is an entrepreneur, respected local government practitioner and development finance specialist.

Having spent a 20 year career in local government he served in various roles most notable being the City Manager of the City of Mbombela in South Africa. During his time in Mpumalanga, Neil was an advisor to the Deputy-President of South Africa Mr. DD Mabuza on municipal service delivery. Neil relocated to the USA in 2019 from Nelspruit and continued his work as a consultant for Local Governments in the USA and in Africa.

Neil is passionate about improving water provision for the people of Africa and have been credited with one of Africa’s most successful water PPP’s. His commitment to excellence has won him the Nelson Mandela Service Delivery award for excellence in local government management.

Neil is proudly South African and passionate about creating a more inclusive society and a better life for all.

Vice President/Chairman

Mrs. M Odendaal

Nico and Magda Odendaal lived in Cape Town, South Africa. They own a business and a home in Atlanta Georgia USA. Nico’s career as a Senior International Captain for South African Airlines, with a flying career of over 45 years, gave them the opportunity to build the business in Atlanta with a data basis of more than 60 000 South Africans. Magda, a qualified Leader in Psychology and a Biblical Counsellor also journeyed through the corporate world as an Executive before she had her own business. Her journey in the Corporate and Business world took her International and she worked with over a 100 Countries, in her Capacity as a business owner as well as a Facilitator for corporate development of executive and management level participants, worldwide. Magda facilitated as a Haggai Institute, Atlanta, senior Facilitator and Resident Coordinator since 2002.
