Nneile Nkholise, the entrepreneur who uses technology for animal husbandry

Shine a light on amazing women

Nneile Nkholise is an entrepreneur with an uncommon background. She started her career in 2011 as a Mechanical Engineer in the public works department in South Africa.

In 2015, she entered entrepreneurship and co-founded iMed Tech, a biotech company specializing in the design of customized medical solutions, ranging from the manufacture of medical prostheses and breast prostheses to bio-implants. In 2016, the World Economic Forum recognized as the best female innovator in Africa. And in 2017, she was named Young South African Woman of the Year by the Office of the President.

In 2018, she was recognized as one of the top 100 young Africans by the Africa Youth Council and included in Forbes Africa’s 30 under 30.

In 2021, she was awarded the Margaret Entrepreneur Africa Prize during the Journées de la Femme digitalen. It is a reward for women entrepreneurs in Africa and Europe whose activities and innovations answer social challenges.
